When you say you’re just going to _____ but end up _____ instead

We’ve all been there. You start out with the best of intentions, thinking you’re going to complete one small, simple task. But somehow, somewhere along the way, the creative juices take over, and next thing you know… you’re in a full-blown artistic frenzy. You said you were just going to organize your art supplies? But instead, you’ve transformed your entire studio into a masterpiece. Or maybe you were just going to paint a quick sketch and poof—you’ve painted an entire mural by the time you realize it.

It’s like your creative brain just can’t help but go all in. Whether you’re deep into a new project or accidentally starting a new one mid-way through another, that’s the artist’s life. It’s chaotic, it’s messy, and it’s definitely not what you planned—but it’s always worth it.

    • Text overlay: “When you say you’re just going to _____, but end up _____ instead.”

    • Show yourself starting off with the intention of doing a small, simple task. For example, “I’m just going to clean up my desk” or “I’m just going to sketch a quick doodle.”

    • Then, cut to the completely unexpected outcome—perhaps you start cleaning, but next thing you know, your desk is a full-blown art studio and you’re deep into a painting. Or maybe you sit down to doodle and end up creating a full, detailed masterpiece.

    • Include playful, upbeat music to emphasize the fun and chaos of the situation.

    • Wrap it up with a shot of you looking at your “mess” and just smiling like, “Well, that escalated quickly…”

    • Slide 1: Text: “When you say you’re just going to _____, but end up _____ instead.”

    • Slide 2: Show a photo of you starting the simple task you intended to do (cleaning, organizing, starting a small painting).

    • Slide 3: The next photo shows the chaos of the real outcome—maybe a cluttered workspace full of art materials or a large, unfinished piece in progress.

    • Slide 4: An image of you proudly (and maybe a bit exhausted) with your creative chaos.

    • Final Slide: Text: “I meant well, but…”

    • Caption: “It’s like the creative universe has its own plans for me. 🙃🎨 #ArtistProblems #CreativeChaos #IWasJustGonna”

    • Start with a video of you setting up for a simple task like organizing or cleaning your art area. Add a text overlay: “Okay, today I’m just going to _____…”

    • Then show clips of you accidentally getting swept up in a larger project—suddenly you’re creating, painting, or reorganizing your entire workspace.

    • End with a fun text overlay like: “And here we are. 😅 Whoops.”

    • Add a poll: “Can you relate? YES / Always” or a question box for your followers to share their own creative misadventures.

    • “When you say you’re just going to sketch, but end up painting a whole canvas instead.”

    • “When you say you’re just going to organize your tools, but end up remodeling your entire studio.”

    • “When you say you’re just going to make a greeting card, but end up creating a full art series.”

    • “When you say you’re just going to write a quick blog post, but end up writing a 50-page manifesto on creativity.”
