Our Story
2007
It was the first day of art class at West Genesee High School, and the bell rang. She strolled through the door, promptly put out her hand and said "Hey I'm Cilla, what’s your name?" Shy yet charming, he responded "Hi, I'm Luke." There was an instant spark between the two. Then the teacher said “Get to work!” So we did :)
2020
Fast forward — Luke and Priscilla, working engineer and art educator on Long Island, are a creative couple sharing their love for the arts by learning together, making new things and teaching others.
We started building together as soon as we started dating. The first two things we made were a wine rack and a litter box. We made them both at the same time, literally side by side, and had a blast creating two awesome additions to our cozy, little apartment.
When we bought our first house in 2018, it was almost never an option to buy a single piece of furniture that we believed we could make ourselves.
Anything from a dining table to outdoor patio furniture, we built it.
It takes a lot of patience and energy, but all the hard work is worth every second!
Just a few days before the big day, we built the arbor for our wedding ceremony.
When we returned from our honeymoon, we used the same macrame and made a new headboard.
Today it hangs above our heads in the bedroom.
It is a precious reminder of the commitment we made, and the best day of our life!
