FLARE is grounded in the reality that chronic illness shapes more than the body. It informs perception, identity, and lived experience in ways that are often unseen in conventional discourse.

Rather than framing this experience solely through a clinical lens, FLARE positions it within creative and cultural space, where it can be explored, witnessed, and translated into form.

FLARE operates through a multidisciplinary approach that includes:

• Narrative and archival storytelling

• Collaborative creative projects

• Community engagement and participatory practices

Across all formats, the focus remains on expression, visibility, and interpretation through artistic lens.

FLARE brings together artists, writers, advocates, and individuals living with endometriosis and chronic illness, alongside those who engage with this work through support, collaboration, and cultural interest.

It is a space for both personal expression and collective witnessing.

FLARE envisions a cultural landscape in which chronic illness is not positioned at the margins of experience, but acknowledged as part of contemporary human narrative, worthy of language, form, and artistic exploration.

Through creative practice, FLARE seeks to expand how these experiences are seen, held, and understood.

FLARE evolves through contribution and collaboration.

Artists, writers, and participants are invited to engage through creative submission, participation in projects, and shared development of ongoing work.

FLARE is currently operated as an independent not-for-profit initiative and is not a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
