Not Your Average Footwear - Inkkas

Designed and fused with art and culture, this-one-of-a-kind company has what the everyday adventurer is looking for. Inkkas World Wear offers handcrafted goods made in Latin America, with unique designs inspired by patterns all over the globe. What I love most is their passion and vision for a thriving world, rich with art, diversity and environmental awareness.

Sustainability

One way they work to achieve this is by partnering with organizations such as Trees For The Future for the OneShoeOneTree Project, where they plant a tree for every pair of shoes purchased. To uphold their commitment in practicing sustainability, their products are made only in small batches to minimize waste. With that in mind, it’s pretty cool to know that my feet are snugged in rare, quality, limited-edition shoes.

Community Inclusivity

Another way they live their mission is by providing opportunities for their their customers (or in this case, just about anyone) to take part in the design process via an art contest. As an artist and art educator, I admire their invitation for the community to “unite and relish” in the creative process. This idea of inclusion is not something you see everyday, especially in the footwear business.

Culture and Travel

Art and agriculture aside, being the avid travelers that we are (pre-COVID and parenthood) my husband and I have a strong appreciation for all of the work that goes into every part of the design process. It is clear that every detail is carefully thought through, right down to the name of the shoe including a description explaining which country that pattern derives from.

For Your Little One

To top it all off, as a new mom I’m especially pumped for their kids section! Our one-year-old daughter is just a few steps away from walking all on her own. Just by moving her little feet she is already taking part in a good cause and international conversation.

Access for All

Oh wait, there’s more: Inkkas’ website has an accessibility feature to allow for individuals of all abilities to have access to discovering all they have to offer. I have never seen that on any website before in my entire 31 years of life.

By now I would not be surprised if you’ve left this page to jump on your own Inkkas journey, which I’m sure will bring some good into your life, as well as many others. Hop on it!
